Farsoon 403P is an SLS machine in the Laboratory of Additive Technologies of SPA “Android Technics”
Farsoon 403P is an SLS machine in the Laboratory of Additive Technologies of SPA “Android Technics”
- Camera dimensions: 357x357x420mm.
Advantages of this machine:
-
Efficiency
Combination of high scanning speed (up to 15.2 m/s), a two-way material feeding system and removable cylinders for constructing and material feeding in the Farsoon 403P series equipment ensures high productivity at low cost.
- High temperature
High temperature, high laser power, intelligent temperature control system allow HT403P to process high-performance materials such as PA12.
- Accuracy
"Farsoon Technologies" laser sintering systems use an intelligent 8-zone heating system equipped with an automatic temperature monitoring and optimization system, which reduces temperature deformations during printing and achieves maximum accuracy of the finished product.
SLS technology
Selective laser sintering (SLS) is an additive manufacturing process, belonging to a wide family of synthesis methods on a substrate. In SLS, the laser selectively sinters polymer powder particles, fusing them with each other and thereby creating layer after layer. Granular thermoplastic polymers are used as the construction material.
This technology is used both for prototyping functional polymer products and for integration into small production cycles, as it offers complete design freedom, high precision and produces parts with good and stable mechanical properties, unlike FDM or SLA.
Naturally, as in any other case, the capabilities of the technology may be fully used only if its key advantages and disadvantages are taken into account.
SLS printing process
The SLS manufacturing process works as follows:
- The powder chamber, as well as the entire printing area, is heated slightly below the melting point of the polymer, after which the leveling blade distributes a thin layer of powder over the working platform.
- The CO2 laser scans the contour of the next layer and selectively sinters (fuses) polymer powder particles. The cross section of the component is scanned (sintered) completely, so the part turns out to be monolithic.
- When the layer is completed, the working platform moves down, and the blade covers the surface with powder again.
The process is repeated until the whole part is ready.
After printing, the part is completely sealed in a non-sintered powder, so the chamber and the powder should cool down before taking it out. Cooling down can take considerable time, up to 45 hours. Then the resulting part is cleaned of powder residues with compressed air. The non-sintered powder is saved for further reuse.
Files for bulk printing
- 3D model files with the extension .STL are “recognized” by any 3D printers, but this format does not support textures.
- We work with the STEP exchange format, which may be converted into the necessary formats for three-dimensional printing.
Notice: the model must be designed to the scale and dimensions of manufacture. It is possible to scale up or down the model by agreement with the customer, with a corresponding change in the cost of the product.
